AI WhatsApp Agent for Sales: CoPilot, Market Apps, n8n or WhatsApp Business AI
There is no single "AI WhatsApp agent" button in Bitrix24 - but four distinct paths exist, each with different setup effort, capabilities, and control. This guide maps each option honestly so sales teams in the UAE and Brazil can pick the right fit before spending a day on configuration.
Every channel ends up in one portal
Why WhatsApp AI for Sales Is Not One Thing
WhatsApp AI for sales covers at least four separate layers: the channel connector that brings messages into your CRM, the bot or automation that replies automatically, the AI layer that understands natural language, and the CRM intelligence that fills fields and scores the conversation - each supplied by a different tool.
Sales teams in the UAE and Brazil often ask for an "AI WhatsApp agent" and mean all four layers at once. In Bitrix24, those layers are currently satisfied by a combination of native connectors, Marketplace apps, custom middleware, and CoPilot's post-conversation analysis. Understanding which layer each tool covers is the fastest way to avoid a mis-configured pilot.
A key rule to keep in mind from WhatsApp itself: customers must usually start the conversation. The exception is template messages, which businesses can send first - but those require pre-approval from Meta. Every option below must work within that constraint.
Option 1: Bitrix24 Native WhatsApp + CoPilot - What Is Actually Confirmed
Bitrix24 offers three native WhatsApp connectors - Twilio, Edna.io, and Instant WhatsApp - but does NOT include a built-in AI auto-reply bot for WhatsApp or Open Channels; CoPilot works after the chat to fill CRM fields, not during the conversation to answer customers.
Native connection options (as of 15 April 2026)
Bitrix24's Contact Center supports three WhatsApp connection paths (official help):
- Twilio - rent a dedicated number; requires a commercial Bitrix24 plan and a paid Twilio account. Bitrix24 does not charge extra for the integration. Twilio charges approximately $0.005 per WhatsApp Session Message (Twilio pricing detail).
- Edna.io - best suited to service messages such as order updates or appointment reminders; paid service (help article).
- Instant WhatsApp - connect without registering your business with Meta; one Open Channel only; WhatsApp does not pass the customer's name or phone number; agents must reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message (help article).
What CoPilot actually does with WhatsApp chats
Once a WhatsApp conversation is in Bitrix24, Bitrix24 CoPilot can analyse it and fill the CRM card automatically - but only after the dialogue contains at least 1,000 characters and 30 seconds have passed since the last message (help article, 24 April 2026). It fills empty CRM fields and suggests changes instead of overwriting filled ones.
CoPilot also works in CRM calls (transcription, summary, script scoring) and email (fills fields from the first incoming email). For a detailed breakdown of the call analysis side, see AI Call Analysis in Bitrix24.
What is NOT natively available: no built-in AI auto-reply bot for Open Channels or WhatsApp is documented on helpdesk.bitrix24.com as of October 2026. Natively available in Open Channels: canned responses only. The Vibecode catalog contains a self-built "Smart Auto-Reply for Open Lines" scenario that a developer can deploy, but that requires custom implementation.
Language note
CoPilot supports English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and more. Arabic is not explicitly listed for CoPilot - do not assume Arabic auto-analysis will work reliably. For Gulf teams selling in Arabic, this is a material gap to verify before committing to a native-only approach. See also Bilingual Arabic & English WhatsApp Business API in Bitrix24 for connector-level options.
Option 2: Third-Party Market Apps with AI Auto-Reply
Third-party Marketplace apps are the fastest way to add an AI auto-reply layer to WhatsApp inside Bitrix24 - they connect to Open Channels and handle natural-language conversations using OpenAI or Google Gemini, but they are not Bitrix24 products and carry their own subscription costs and data-processing terms.
The Bitrix24 Market contains several apps in this category. Two third-party examples (The MindHub was featured in a Bitrix24 blog post of 21 July 2026):
- Flow Bridge WA (third-party) - a WhatsApp Cloud API connector.
- The MindHub - AI Agent Maker (third-party) - AI agents for Open Channels including website chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and Telegram; uses OpenAI and Google Gemini models.
Beyond these, the Market lists other third-party chatbot and AI-agent apps for Open Channels. Features, pricing and handoff options differ by app, so check each app page before choosing.
When evaluating any Marketplace app:
- Confirm which WhatsApp connector it requires (Twilio, Edna.io, or Cloud API direct).
- Check data residency: messages processed by OpenAI or Gemini pass through those providers' infrastructure.
- Verify the handoff logic: a well-configured bot should pass the full chat history to the agent when it escalates.
For teams already using Bitrix24 for omnichannel contact management, Marketplace apps slot in without replacing the existing Open Channels setup.
Option 3: n8n or a Custom Bot via WhatsApp Cloud API
A custom bot built with n8n, Make, or direct WhatsApp Cloud API calls gives the most control over conversation logic, AI model choice, and data routing - but requires developer time to build and ongoing maintenance to keep working as WhatsApp and Bitrix24 APIs update.
This path is common for sales teams with specific qualification flows that no Marketplace app covers out of the box. Typical architecture:
- WhatsApp Cloud API (via a Meta Business Account) receives inbound messages.
- n8n (or a similar workflow tool) parses the message, calls an LLM (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, or a self-hosted model), and formulates a reply.
- The bot creates or updates a Bitrix24 lead via the REST API, attaching the conversation transcript.
- A handoff rule passes the chat to a human agent in the Bitrix24 Open Channel when the bot cannot resolve the query.
Setup effort is higher than a Marketplace app - plan for several days of development and testing for a basic qualification bot, more for a complex multi-step flow. The upside is full control: you choose the model, the prompt, the language (Arabic works if the LLM supports it), and you keep data in a region of your choice.
For UAE teams with data residency requirements under the UAE PDPL, a custom bot lets you route data through an in-country or DIFC/ADGM-compliant infrastructure - something a Marketplace app may not offer.
Option 4: Meta WhatsApp Business AI (Flows and Automated Messaging)
Meta's own WhatsApp Business Platform includes Flows (structured interactive messages) and, for eligible accounts, AI-powered automated replies managed entirely within Meta's infrastructure - no CRM integration is automatic, so data must be pushed to Bitrix24 via webhook or API.
Meta offers template messages (outbound, pre-approved) and interactive Flows that guide customers through structured choices - product selection, appointment booking, support triage. These work inside the WhatsApp app natively with no third-party app installed by the customer.
The trade-off: conversations handled purely inside Meta's platform do not appear in Bitrix24 automatically. You need a webhook to push lead data and conversation history into the CRM. Without that bridge, sales reps are switching between WhatsApp Business Manager and Bitrix24 manually - which defeats the purpose.
Meta's AI capabilities for business messaging are evolving. For the most current state of what is available to business accounts in the UAE and Brazil, check the Meta for Business documentation directly, as features roll out by region and account tier.
Which WhatsApp AI option fits my sales situation?
The right option depends on how much you need AI to reply automatically versus analyse after the fact, how many WhatsApp conversations you handle per day, and whether data residency or language requirements (Arabic, Portuguese) constrain your model choice.
| Option | Setup effort | AI auto-reply | CRM integration | Control | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitrix24 native + CoPilot | Low | No (canned responses only) | Native, automatic | Medium | Teams that need CRM field-fill from chats; existing Bitrix24 users |
| Marketplace AI app | Low-medium | Yes (OpenAI / Gemini) | Via Open Channels | Medium | Teams wanting AI replies without development work |
| n8n / custom bot via API | High | Yes (any model) | Via REST API | High | Complex flows; Arabic; data residency requirements |
| Meta WhatsApp Business AI | Medium | Partial (Flows + Meta AI) | Manual or webhook | Low | Outbound campaigns; structured menus; no CRM vendor lock-in |
How does bot data flow into the CRM?
A properly configured WhatsApp bot should pass a structured data set to Bitrix24 - not just a raw chat log - so the agent who picks up the conversation has contact details, deal context, and qualification answers visible before saying a word.
An inbound WhatsApp message travels through the connector into a Bitrix24 Open Channel, where the bot or automation layer handles the first response. Once the conversation qualifies or escalates, the CRM receives the structured output.
An inbound WhatsApp message travels through the connector, is processed by the bot, and the result is written to the CRM as a lead or deal with the full conversation attached.
Data the bot should write to the CRM on each conversation:
- Contact - name (if provided), phone, WhatsApp ID, channel source.
- Lead or deal - created automatically on first contact.
- Qualification answers - saved to specific CRM fields (product interest, budget range, timeline).
- Chat transcript - attached to the CRM card, visible to the agent before they speak.
- Escalation reason - why the bot handed off (unrecognised query, explicit request for a human, off-hours).
After the conversation, CoPilot can review the chat (minimum 1,000 characters, 30 seconds after last message) and fill any remaining empty CRM fields automatically.
What should I check before going live with a WhatsApp AI pilot?
Run through this checklist before activating any WhatsApp AI pilot - skipping items here is the most common cause of a bot that creates duplicate leads, fails to escalate, or poisons CRM data with test conversations.
- Chosen the WhatsApp connector: Twilio (dedicated number), Edna.io (service messages), Instant WhatsApp (quick start, limited), or Cloud API direct.
- Confirmed the AI auto-reply layer: Marketplace app, n8n workflow, or Meta Flows - not assuming CoPilot replies to customers automatically.
- Compiled 20-50 typical questions and answers for the bot's knowledge base.
- Defined stop-phrases and escalation conditions that hand off to a human agent.
- Written an out-of-hours script: what the bot says, how it captures a callback number, how it creates the lead.
- Mapped which CRM fields the bot fills from qualification answers.
- Set a response SLA: after how many minutes of agent silence does the system escalate to a supervisor.
- Configured spam/test-message closure so dummy conversations do not inflate lead counts.
- Verified language support: Portuguese (CoPilot confirmed), Arabic (verify per app/model - not confirmed for CoPilot natively).
- Checked data-processing terms of the AI provider used (OpenAI, Gemini, or other) against your data protection obligations - PDPL in the UAE, LGPD in Brazil, or GDPR where applicable.
- Tested the full flow end-to-end on a staging Open Channel before pointing real traffic at it.
- Set up analytics: number of conversations handled, share escalated to agents, customer satisfaction ratings, leads created.
Where CoPilot Fits After the Conversation Ends
CoPilot's role in a WhatsApp sales workflow is post-conversation intelligence: it analyses the chat, fills CRM fields, and - when combined with call data - gives sales managers a complete picture of each deal without manual data entry.
Once a WhatsApp conversation closes in Bitrix24, CoPilot reviews the dialogue and updates the CRM card with structured data. Combined with CoPilot's call analysis (transcription, script scoring, improvement tips), the result is a deal record that reflects every touchpoint - phone, WhatsApp, email - without a rep typing notes.
For sales managers, this means:
- Deal fields filled from chat without manual entry.
- A conversation timeline showing what the customer said and what was promised.
- Script-compliance checks on calls that followed the WhatsApp first contact.
- CoPilot's "Rate call" feature comparing agent responses against the sales script.
CoPilot is available on both Bitrix24 Cloud and On-Premise. "Unlimited AI in Bitrix24" (including CoPilot in CRM chats) is available from Standard Vibe+ upward (bitrix24.com/prices, 5 October 2026). Data processed through CoPilot is handled by third-party providers such as OpenAI; Bitrix24 stores your data for up to 14 days for technical purposes and then deletes it (FAQ). For teams with strict data sovereignty requirements, see where Bitrix24 AI processes your data before enabling CoPilot on sensitive conversations.
If your sales team is evaluating the full Bitrix24 setup - not just the WhatsApp layer - the Bitrix24 onboarding questionnaire is a practical starting point for scoping what needs to be configured.

Questions we get asked
FAQ: AI WhatsApp Agent for Sales
Does Bitrix24 have a built-in AI bot that replies to WhatsApp messages automatically?
No. As of October 2026, no built-in AI auto-reply bot for WhatsApp or Open Channels is documented on helpdesk.bitrix24.com. Native options are canned responses and CoPilot post-chat field-fill. For AI auto-reply, use a Marketplace app or a custom bot via WhatsApp Cloud API.
Which WhatsApp connectors does Bitrix24 support natively?
Three: Twilio (dedicated number, paid Twilio account required), Edna.io (best for service messages like order updates), and Instant WhatsApp (quick setup, no Meta business registration, but limited to one Open Channel and no customer name/phone passed). See the official help.
Does CoPilot support Arabic for WhatsApp chat analysis?
Arabic is not explicitly listed in CoPilot's confirmed language set (English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and more are confirmed). Do not assume Arabic analysis will work reliably - verify with your Bitrix24 partner before building a workflow that depends on it.
What data does a WhatsApp bot pass to Bitrix24 CRM?
A correctly configured bot should write the contact details (name, phone, WhatsApp ID), create a lead or deal automatically, save qualification answers to CRM fields, attach the full chat transcript, and record the channel source. CoPilot can then review the transcript and fill any remaining empty fields.
When does n8n or a custom bot make more sense than a Marketplace app?
Custom builds make sense when you need a specific AI model (e.g. for Arabic), have data residency requirements that Marketplace app providers cannot meet, or need qualification logic too complex for a no-code app. Expect several days of development effort for a basic flow and plan for ongoing API maintenance.
Which Bitrix24 plan is needed for CoPilot to analyse WhatsApp chats?
Unlimited AI in Bitrix24, which includes CoPilot in CRM chats, is available from Standard Vibe+ upward (bitrix24.com/prices, 5 October 2026). Essentials and Basic Vibe+ plans include AI for everyday work with usage limits, and the plan comparison page lists CoPilot call transcripts and automatic field completion from the Basic plan.
